Undergraduate Project, CEPT University: Semester II, 2014

Duration : 4 months

During initial interactions, we realized a lot of what we find beautiful, for instance, a rainbow, aquarium, flocks of birds flying, etc. are so visually oriented that the visually impaired don’t have any way to appreciate this.

Thus, translating the experience of an aquarium became the basis of exploring various forms, textures, and patterns. We generated texture panels and 3D forms as a part of this exploration that were both pleasing to touch and pleasing to look at.

The entire design process can e summed up into three stages:

Ideate, Crystallize, and Construct

Part 2

Concept

METAMORPHOSIS

An applied force of cogitation of metamorphosis is comprehended and hence adapted from the form transformation observed in the units that build up the pod.

This extraction is then applied and leads to the creation of spatial barriers between two columns and a small-scale pre-school in the same given site.
